Afghanistan is a very beautiful, undiscovered country. You dont have to travel to the insecure areas. Just try Herat, Mazare- sharif and Bamian to realize what a treasure it is. Or take the rute from Herat to Chakhcharan in the central Afghanistan where you are 5000 feet above the sea to breath the only possibly clean air on earth after Himalaia mountains. see this link to see only a glims of Herat city on West Afghanistan.. Erm I think not. Although the country is war torn, it has some incredibly beautiful architecture such as in East Afghanistan and the National Parks in Jalalabad. And to be honest, when i went there I actually wouldn’t have been able to known there was a war(if i hadn’t seen soldiers) as all the people seem lively and happy and well… normal, except the women in the burkas which you don’t see much of in the UK. I think Afghanistan doing pretty good considering the corruption of the Taliban, the attempt of the Soviet invasion, the ‘American vs Terrorists’ war (c’mon we all know that’s not what they’re really after) and the bombings. Although i have to admit there are quite a lot of children and tramps wandering around, but can this be blamed after all that Afghans have been through for the past nearly 2 decades?
