well i think its disgraceful when i went all the people i met were racist. they were saying how us white british guys and gals are stuck up, destructive and we would destroy them in a matter of moments given the right inscentive

Well If you haven’t traveled at all or expect everything to be like Mexico “Was” then forget it.
I have been to Jamaica, Philippines and Costa Rica. There is thefy and robbery in every country. When an American come to their country, they expect to make some good money off of you. So yes beware but also have fun barttering with them. If you shy then you will suffer from fear and they can sence it.
Bu Always have fun where ever you go enjoy the Life style remeber your in their country.
Like “Mike” above said, get off the beaten track and enjoy they spirit of the people they will really be blessed with your presence. It is a gift to have an American as a frined in most of the countries that are suffering.
Dont look for Embassy suite where there is little to offer in countries.

HOW can anyone not like Costa Rica? I guess it’s the way one travels. If you’re staying in a lavish house on the side of the hill facing the ocean, it’s amazing. The food and drinks are cheap. YOu can’t really beat $2 cocktails and $7.50 arroz con pollo. The people are incredibly friendly and most people understand English. For those who didn’t like it - sorry you missed out.

Afghanistan and Iraq is on the same list as Costa Rica….u missed Tibet and sri lanka and darfur and the west bank…. I’ve been to Costa Rica and it should NOT be on this LIST!

Overpriced? This has got to be some kind of joke…worstholiday.com has obviously not done much traveling. You can definitely travel costa rica in a very cost effective way. Try doing that at Disneyland, New York City, destinations in florida, almost anywhere in europe….. PLEASSEEEEE! Costa Rica has been one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been……oh yeah, i didn’t stay at an ‘all enclusive hotel’ I actually experienced the country….. get a clue

I just got back from Costa Rica a week ago and I must say, it was one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. Sure, if you’re planning on staying in 5 star resorts you should expect it to be expensive, over-priced, even. But isn’t that true for any place you visit? From an eco-tourism standpoint: it was phenomenal! We saw unique animals, went through all different stages of the rain forest, got to see Costa Rica like a local would, and it didn’t cost much at all! This should definitely be taken off the list. If you’re looking for an inexpensive adventure, I would recommend Costa Rica anyday.

hehe..i think what ken meant to say is the places he stayed are overpriced….i bet he brought his golf clubs to Costa Rica and was hoping to see a toucan or howler monkey on the 18th hole so he could tell all his friends he experienced Costa Rica.

Overpriced! then I agree with mike, you did not do your homework. I experienced one of the most diverse places on the planet, not to mention a friendly culture and it Didn’t cost me an arm and a leg…actually quite the opposite. My personal opinion is if you really want to experience Costa Rica than you need to travel on a budget or you’ll end up staying in places that may as well be in Miami…..you didn’t like it here? You weren’t really HErE- GET it?

Where did you people go that you think CR is overpriced or over rated- tamarindo, manuel antonio, jaco….HELLO…samamra, corcovado, tortuguero….oh yeah, you wouldn’t go there cause they may not have AC, HOT water, french fries, and room service….you didn’t enjoy Costa Rica than you’re right- YOU”re definitely Disney World material.

Costa Rica is like anywhere else. Yeah, there’s some high priced tourist destinations..but off the beaten path and you’ll see and experience some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife on the planet and WAY cheap….maybe someone should google couchsurfing dot com. If you think Costa Rica is overpriced then you must have went on a pre-determined tour package that takes you only to tourist hotspots that ARE indeed overpriced….and YOU did not do your homework. You can easily see the best of what Costa Rica has to offer on a budget..and they do NOT deserve to be featured on this page.
